Food Services
“Delivering healthy meals to fuel growing minds”
Overview
The Food Service Department provides approximately 2,000 elementary lunches and 1300 secondary lunches daily at all school sites. Breakfast is served at most school sites.
AUSD Food Service follows the Enhanced Food Based Menu Planning (EFBMP) option. EFBMP calls for five components to be offered at lunch, meat/meat alternate, bread/grain, fruit+/vegetable and milk. The meal pattern is “offer verse serve” so that a student only needs to take three or the five components offered for a meal to be reimbursable.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to ensure that every student has daily access to a fresh, nutritious meal that exceeds State and Federal Guidelines
