DISTRICT OFFICE Educational Services Achievement & Assessment

Achievement & Assessment

Educational Services

Overview

With the development of the state standards, the creation of the state testing system and the federal requirements mandated by No Child Left Behind (NCLB), districts have been far more focused on the use of data to inform our instruction and monitor student progress. Alameda Unified School District assessments include:

  • California Standards Tests (CST)
  • California High School Exam (CAHSEE)
  • California English Language Development Test (CELDT)
  • District benchmark tests in Language Arts and Mathematics
  • 8th Grade and 12th Grade Portfolio and Senior Projects
  • High School Advanced Placement Exams (AP Exams)

Mission Statement

Our goal is to ensure that every student learns the skills and information they need to be well educated and productive citizens with multiple life opportunities. The test results are an important measure to monitor our efforts in reaching that goal.

Student achievement results are housed in a central data system, MEASURES, which allows each teacher web access to their students' data. The MEASURES system also allows administrators to monitor school wide and district wide performance over time.
