Special Education
Overview
The Special Education Department of Alameda Unified School District ensures that a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is provided to all qualified disabled students. The Special Education Department is one part of a unified educational effort to provide educational programming and services to ensure an educational benefit and respond to each student’s unique needs. The Special Education Department works collaboratively with all departments and sites to ensure that all students have equity in access to an excellent educational system.
Services We Provide
The Special Education Department provides assessment services for children suspected of having a disability that negatively impacts educational progress.
