Please be advised that much of the information in the documents below from the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years is now out of date and has been superseded by subsequent events. On the one hand, some of what is discussed in the documents as plans is now being implemented thanks to the passage of Measure A in March 2011. On the other hand, some of what is discussed (e.g., consideration of a “Plan B” scenario without a parcel tax) reflects contingency planning for a contingency that did not occur, also thanks to the passage of Measure A. We keep these documents here as helpful background for those interested in the community engagement and extensive planning work done in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. But we also caution that the information here is out of date so that those looking for current information should not rely on these archived materials.

Recap of Community Feedback
This is a recap of the 2009 Listening Campaign for the Master Plan. The Listening Campaign included eight special Board Community Workshops between May 20 and November 17, 2009, more than 30 Master Plan meetings (“Road Shows”) at school sites this fall (including at least two such events at each school site), two Master Plan surveys, and independent community meetings involving hundreds of individuals led by Public Education Volunteers across Alameda.
Through that unprecedented community engagement process AUSD was able to inform and then reform both the Master Plan process and subsequently the draft Master Plan itself. AUSD will continue to further revise and improve the Master plan based on feedback from the community and direction from the Board of Education in order to present a rough draft of the Master Plan at the January 26 Board meeting and a final draft for approval at the February 9 Board meeting.
Summaries of the Community Workshops are below.
Summaries of each school site meeting (“Road Show”) are available HERE
Results of the Surveys are here:
Public Education Volunteers reported on their meetings at the Community Workshops on October 20 and November 17, 2009.
In addition, individual feedback forms from Community workshops and site meetings (“Road Shows”) as well as feedback forms and written reports on all feedback forms we received from the independent PEV meetings are available for review in the office of the Assistant Superintendent.
