2018-19 measure b1 oversight committee applications
Background
On November 8, 2016, 74.2% of Alameda Voters approved Measure B1. This parcel tax is essentially an extension of Measure A, which ended on June 30, 2018.
Measure B1 went into effect on July 1, 2018. Like Measure A, Measure B1 will generate approximately $12 million per year for seven years. Like Measure A, Measure B1 also has an Oversight Committee that will review revenues and expenditures for the parcel tax program periodically and also develop an annual report.
Applications for the committee are made available to the public in August. (Please see applications to the left on this page.) The Board of Education approves the appointment of the 11-member Measure A Oversight Committee each fall. The Oversight Committee meets several times over the course of the year to review AUSD’s compliance with the terms of Measure A and issues an annual report in December or January. All meetings of the Oversight Committee are open to the public and comply with open meeting laws (the Brown Act). Minutes, agendas and any other relevant communications and information are posted on this page at least 72 hours prior to each meeting.
