introduction

The global public health crisis presented by COVID-19 has impacted the learning and support services available to public school children around the world.  AUSD is deeply committed to supporting our students and families who receive special education services.

To the extent feasible and in line with health and safety, students with IEPs will continue to receive instruction and support during the 2020/2021 school year through AUSD's "Remote Learning Program" or "Flexible Learning Program."

These learning programs will not be exact replicas of existing IEPs, due to the constraints under which we are all operating. Please be assured, however, that it is our goal to fully implement IEPs when students can safely return to school.  In the meantime, we will align instruction and related services to the IEP to the greatest extent possible within the Learning Programs available.

We have created this page to serve as a hub for resources about special education plans and services during the COVID-19 public health crisis. Please check back often as we will be updating the page on a regular basis.
